Six stages make up the second and last leg after a linear route of 740.10 km, to get from Barcelona to Perpignan and back

Barcelona, 25 February 2017.- The second day of the Rally Catalunya Històric Trofeu Dues Catalunyes is underway. It is the first regularity rally for classic vehicles organised by the RACC. The rally that started yesterday in Barcelona with 50 participating teams, will make a halfway stop today in Perpignan. From 20.45h onwards the rally will finish in Barcelona, at the parc fermé set-up in Fòrum de Barcelona, followed by a gala dinner at Hotel SB Diagonal Zero, during which the respective prizes will be awarded to the most outstanding entrants.

The first leg staged yesterday ended in Santa Coloma de Farners, with the provisional leadership of José Manuel López-Gerard Ferrer (VW Scirocco de 1980), followed by Carles Miró-Iván Matavacas (Porsche 911 SC de 1981) and Joan Rollán-Álvaro Rollán (Porsche 2.2T). Eight regularity test stages were run yesterday, 2 of them in closed racetracks. Six stages will be run today: Les Serres, Les Encies, Capsacosta, La Forge del Mitg, Saint Michel de Llotes, Les Llosses-Alpens and La Trona. After the first three, the duo on the top spot of the classification are Miró-Matavacas.

The cars will leave Perpignan heading to Barcelona at 14.40h and they are scheduled to arrive at the parc fermé in Fòrum Barcelona from 20.45h onwards. The prizes that will be awarded to the best classified in the 1st Rally Catalunya Històric "Trofeu Dues Catalunyes" are in line with the category and significance of this new event. The winning driver and co-driver will receive the prestigious RACC Trophy, an exclusive design by the Catalan company Awa Premis, as well as personalised precision watches from the BRM Cronographes Collection.

The top five will receive the BRM Chronographes trophy, sponsor of the rally. The winners of each class will also receive a BRM trophy, just like the best classified non-Spanish crew, the first RACC-member crew, the crew with the highest age after adding the ages of both crew members and the crew driving the oldest best classified car. All crews that manage to finish the race will also receive an exclusive Finisher memento.

For this event, in addition to BRM, the RACC is counting on the support of the Catalan Tourist Board, through its brand Catalunya, Caves Mestres, AutoSport Hebdo, Sport, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Blunik Precision Chrono and the Town Councils of Barcelona and Perpignan, as well as Vallespir Retro Courses, collaborators of the organisation of the event in French territory.
