Linear route of 736 km and 15 different regularity stages on closed roads

Barcelona, 26 January 2017. With one week left for the closure of the entry period, the 1st Rally Catalunya Històric Trofeu Dues Catalunyes has already more than 70% of the expected participation covered, with a truly select list of drivers and machines that will try to write down their name in the winner's list of this event that will start a new era in the world of classic car regularity rallies.

After the presentation of the official poster, it is now time to introduce the trophies that will be awarded to the best of this premium rally, which will offer participants all comfort services prepared by Reial Automòbil Club de Catalunya (RACC): entry fees; accommodation; welcome buffet, lunches and dinners; luggage transport; presents; official programme including all participants; metal plate for collectors; finisher trophy (only for those finishing the race, regardless of other awards they may receive); and the guarantee offered by the Blunic Precision Chrono timekeeping service.

The prizes that will be awarded to the best classified in the 1st Rally Catalunya Històric "Trofeu Dues Catalunyes" are in line with the category and significance of this new event. The overall winning driver and co-driver will receive the prestigious RACC Trophy, an exclusive design by the Catalan company Awa Premis, which was, amongst others, responsible for the design of the torches used at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The winning crew will also receive a precision watch for both the driver and the co-driver from the BRM Chronographes collection.

In addition to the exclusive prizes to be awarded to the winning crew, the top five classified will receive the BRM Chronographes Trophy, sponsor of the rally. The winners of each class will also receive a BRM trophy, just like the best classified non-Spanish crew, the first RACC-member crew, the crew with the highest age after adding the ages of both crew members and the crew driving the oldest best classified car. All crews that manage to finish the race will also receive an exclusive Finisher memento.

The 1st Rally Catalunya Històric Trofeu Dues Catalunyes, first regularity event reserved for classic cars organised directly by the RACC, will recall the history of the most important rally of our county, the Rallye Catalunya, which was created in 1957 and will be staging its 53 edition in 2017 as scoring round towards the FIA World Rally Championship. The event also wants to recall the history of a peculiar race organised by the RACC, the Rallye de les Dues Catalunyes, which was staged between 1960 and 1965 with Barcelona and Perpignan as start or finish points.

This 1st Rally Catalunya Històric Trofeu Dues Catalunyes will be a linear race that will provide for all the safety that only the largest automobile club of the country can offer.  The rally will have an itinerary of 736.31 km including 147.43 km distributed into 15 regularity test stages on closed roads, all of which will be different (no stage will be repeated) and two of which will be raced on a racetrack, one of them Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. All of the stages will be run with averages of up to 55 km/h and there will two types of averages to choose from.

The start will be given on 24 February (15h) at Avinguda de la Catedral in Barcelona, followed by a neutralization in Viladrau (19.42h) and finish of the leg in Santa Coloma de Farners (Hotel Mas Solà, ****), from 21.35h. At 8 a.m. on Saturday 25 February, the start will be given for the second leg, with destination Perpignan (13.06h), to regroup, have lunch, and to continue the way at 14.36h with destination Parc del Forum in Barcelona, where the cars are expected to arrive from 20.45h. The closure dinner and the prize-giving ceremony will be held from 22.00h at Hotel SB Diagonal Zero (****), where participants will also stay overnight.
